Sometime back during our Covid19 lockdown, this particular YouTuber from Kerala, India caught my attention, not because of his content or he was funny. It is because of the phenomenal event he created. This YouTuber got more than 1 million subscribers within a week. A million views overnight for a video he created on criticizing TikTok videos. Arjyou became an overnight sensation in Kerala, India
Even established people and celebrities take a few weeks or months to create that many subscribers. This made me curious to know more about what acted as the catalyst and how it got accelerated.
So, I decided to study this event and analyze what was the triggering point for it?
Born in the year 1997, March Arjyou A.K.A Arjun Sundaresan hails from Alappuzha, Kerala, India. His father Mr. Sunderesan is employed in the state police department and mother Lasitha works as a panchayath Secretary. He has one younger brother who is pursuing his degree.
Due to his interest in movie making and film industry, he discontinued his Engineering education. And joined a Multimedia course to pursue his interest in movie direction and editing.
However, he started a Youtube channel in August of 2013, way before the Covid-19 pandemic he was not much active on his channel, hardly posting one or two videos per year.

If you take a look at his video history he became active on his Youtube channel during the COVID-19 lockdown period. He started posting videos playing PUBG mobile games and his reaction to various gaming applications. His videos were similar to PewDiepie and Carry Minati.
So what triggered this once a dormant channel to become a Youtube sensation?
The reaction video which he made on a few pack of Tiktokers made all the difference. From there it was no turning back for Arjyou. Views came into his video like the floods gates were opened. His video became trending on Youtube and people started to share on all social media pages and made him receive the Golden Playbutton award from Youtube.
If you look at his videos, you could recognize he is not that funny, yet people viewed it a million times why ?. Simply because of the hatred which was mongering in the society for those regional TikTokers.
Arjyou became the collective voice for the mass who hated all these silly irritating videos which were made on TikTok. These TikTokers were making annoying videos to gain attention and to get topmost views.
Arjyou became the messiah among the people who were disliking these kinds of videos.
Once he came to know this USP, he made more roasting videos on all annoying TikTokers. To date, he has made 18 videos that have more than 1M views.
This event was a phenomenal , because a million subscribers less that a week ? It is something which dont happen always.

If you look at the growth of his subscribers you can see within 5 days of his video he hit 1M subscribers and within the next 7 days, he hit another milestone of 2M.
Arjyou’s overnight celebrity status not only brought him recognition but also a few lakhs to his kitty. A non-celebrity Youtuber with only fewer videos on his list and making a few lakhs within a week’s time makes him stand apart. Within a few days, his videos on Youtube started showing advertisements as part of Google’s Adsense program. If you look at his estimated earning he has made 4-10 lakhs earning being a beginner.
Following all these sensations and recognization, Arjyou got few roasting videos back criticizing his way of presentation which was expected but he still got his support. As of now, there are more than 2M subscribers for his channel.
Personally , I don’t find his video funny nor entertaining, but people who were hating those Tiktokers made Arjyou as their representative to judge those videos. I have seen other regional Youtubers like Ahmed Meeran who has more constructive roasting. But you cannot avoid recognizing Arjyou achievement. Lets us wait to see if he would be consistent or disappear like the wink girl.
