2020 Covid-19 pandemic has made many of us go frugal and rely on DIY. Home maintenance was such things that got a hit because of lockdown and labor shortage. Many of us depended on YouTube videos to get our home maintenance done and some mandatory tools made it easy to save some money, time, and labor.
I realized the importance of these tools with a small incident that happened when I shifted my house. I wanted to fix curtain rod’s on my windows since it is a residential apartment I enquired with the maintenance and they slapped me a quote of Rs 200 for each hole, I was like whaaat ???.
So basically, if I have to fix curtains in 5 windows with 4 holes to fix the holders would cost me Rs 4000?. if I negotiate they would give a discount of Rs 500 ?? And to fix my wall tv and mirrors ???
I dint bother to negotiate or argue. I went straight, to the nearest hardware shop and bought myself a Bosch drilling machine and drill bits of various sizes ( 3mm to 6mm) and got my work done. The price of the machine was close to 10 holes.
So if I use the machine at least 3 times for any maintenance work I cover my cost of the machine ( you need to pay Rs 700 for labor to come for any small work )
If you don’t have any tools with you. You can buy Bosch GSB 500W 500 RE toolset, for your small home maintenance. This set consists of all tools required for the maintenance.
There are other brands also but Bosch power tools are pocket friendly with a huge network of service centers.
These simple tools will save you a lot of money.
