A note before you read this: This reflects my personal opinion and research as of August 2021 — genuinely old given how quickly markets move. These are not current stock recommendations. Check today’s price, financials, and news for each company before making any decision, and consider speaking with a SEBI-registered financial advisor for personalized guidance.
Tata is a brand that inspires every Indian, a brand we are proud of. I used to hear inspiring stories from my father about TATA, like the reason behind hotel TAJ and their patriotism in business. TATA stocks are, in my personal view, among the more trusted names in the share market.
Tata has business across nearly every vertical, from salt to software. When I started investing, I gravitated toward TATA shares because of the trust the group has built over decades — that’s a personal preference, not a claim that TATA stocks are inherently safer or better investments than any other company’s.
Some Tata shares can be costly given their market size and business scale. At the time of writing, a few were more affordable, and I want to talk through those — again, as my own research and opinion at the time, not current recommendations.
A TATA company that operates TAJ hotels, Vivanta, and The Gateway — in the hospitality industry with accommodation and catering services, holding iconic properties under the TAJ brand.
Provides communication services in India, from basic telephone to mobile services, including CDMA and GSM lines for corporate B2B customers. TATA’s joint venture with DOCOMO wasn’t particularly successful, but the company continued providing IT and communication infrastructure to major Indian companies at the time.
An integrated power company involved in generation, transmission, distribution, and trading, with renewable energy exposure through solar and wind. At the time, I believed India’s growing renewable energy demand could benefit this stock over time — my own opinion, not a guarantee.
A subsidiary of Tata Projects Ltd, involved in infrastructure and construction — providing engineering services to large industries, oil wells, and hydrocarbon projects in India and abroad.
These were my personal picks for long-term consideration at the time I wrote this, based on my own research and risk tolerance — not current recommendations, and every company’s fundamentals may have changed significantly since 2021. Always do your own current research (or consult a SEBI-registered advisor) before investing in any of these.
True. Tata is a reliable name and reliable stocks indeed. Thanks for the tip!
