Is Pawns.app Legit in India? What It Pays Now and Why Internet Sharing Is Gone (2026)

October 27, 2026

Short answer: Pawns.app is a real company that pays out, but it is not the internet-sharing app that many older guides still describe. Its own information page says that as of 2026 it does not offer bandwidth sharing, and that the feature was discontinued. What it offers now is paid surveys, mobile games and contests. Do not expect passive income from leaving it running.

This page covers what Pawns.app does today, what it pays, the fees, how long payouts take, what users complain about, and what to watch for from India. If you came here wanting to earn from your internet connection, see our guide to apps that still share bandwidth.

What Pawns.app Is Now

Pawns.app describes itself as a reward platform where you earn by completing surveys, playing mobile games and entering contests. It says the app is available worldwide on Android and iOS, with survey and offer availability depending on your location.

Pawns app kya hai? Yeh ek earning app hai jisme aap surveys bharke, games khelke aur contests me hissa lekar paise kama sakte hain. Pehle ise internet bechne wale app ke roop me jaana jaata tha, lekin uski apni website ke mutabik ab yeh feature band ho chuka hai.

Did Pawns.app Really Stop Selling Internet?

Its own page says so in plain words: “As of 2026, Pawns.app does not offer internet bandwidth sharing,” and the feature “was discontinued.” But the picture is not fully clean:

  • Some third-party guides, including ones updated in 2026, still describe bandwidth sharing at about $0.20 per GB.
  • Some recent user reviews on Trustpilot still mention internet sharing, and one says it paid only around $5 to $6 a year.
  • Parts of its terms of use may still mention traffic sharing.

We can’t tell from outside whether the feature is gone for everyone or only for some accounts and regions. The safe approach is to check what your own app shows after you install it. If you see an internet-sharing switch, read what it says it shares before you turn it on. If you don’t, you should assume you are in a surveys-and-games app.

What Pawns.app Pays

The company’s own figures are bold. Its site says “up to $5 per survey”, between $10 and $100 for reaching milestones in mobile games, and that “only the most active users may earn up to $500/month”. These figures leave out the other earning options such as quests, the prize wheel, lucky draws, leaderboards and referrals. An older claim of $12 a day as an “average” has also circulated. We would not plan around any of these. Earnings depend on how many surveys are available in your region, and we could not find any independent figure for what an Indian user earns.

A realistic way to think about it: surveys and games pay for your time, not your connection, so the question is how many rupees you earn per hour. A small payout in dollars is also reduced by the fees below.

Payout Minimum, Fees and Timing

ItemWhat Pawns says
Minimum payout$5, whatever the payment method
PayPal fee4%, with a minimum of $0.25 per transaction (a $5 payout leaves $4.75)
Bitcoin fee$4, which you can avoid by receiving through a Bitlocus account
Virtual gift cardsNo fee
Processing timeUsually 48 to 72 hours, longer over weekends; Bitcoin usually reaches the wallet within a few hours after processing
PayPal in IndiaIndia is listed as a supported country

Two things to know before you request a payout. First, PayPal, gift card and Cash App payouts are sent through a payment partner called Tremendous, so the money arrives as an email link you have to redeem. Check your spam folder if you can’t find it. Second, the payout partner may ask for an ID check before it processes your payout. Pawns says this is a one-time step.

From India, PayPal adds its own steps and costs: you need to complete KYC and set a purpose code, and the dollar amount is converted to rupees at a rate that includes PayPal’s markup. Our internet data guide explains this in more detail. We have not tested a Pawns payout to an Indian bank account, so we can’t say how long the full journey takes.

What Users Complain About

On Trustpilot, Pawns.app shows a 4.3 out of 5 score across more than 8,600 reviews at the time we checked. Praise centres on quick payouts and a clean app. The complaints, mostly on survey and account issues, are consistent enough to take seriously:

  • Surveys that pay nothing. A recent reviewer says that after finishing surveys, “many of us do the surveys and receive $0”. The company’s reply is that third-party partners decide whether a submission is accepted.
  • Getting kicked out of surveys partway through, reported as a recurring problem though not a universal one.
  • Account bans with no explanation. One reviewer says they were banned for no reason and that support did not help. The company says it can’t discuss individual accounts in public.
  • Low value of games. One reviewer says the games aren’t worth the effort.

These are individual reports, and we haven’t verified any of them. Trustpilot scores can also be shaped by how a company asks for reviews, so use them as a guide to the types of problems, not as proof.

Is It Safe?

  • Install only from the official stores. Searches such as “pawns app mod apk” lead to unofficial files, which are a common way to spread malware. No legitimate app needs a modified APK to pay you.
  • Never share an OTP, UPI PIN or banking login with the app or with anyone who contacts you about your earnings.
  • Be careful with referral and “payment proof” pages. Many sites push referral codes, and some promise “guaranteed” earnings. Pawns itself says earnings vary.
  • Don’t pay anyone to unlock earnings. A real payout never needs you to pay first.
  • Use a separate email for sign-ups, so a data leak doesn’t reach your main accounts.
  • Pawns says its traffic is encrypted and anonymised and its accounts use secure authentication. That is the company’s statement. We haven’t audited it.

Who Should Use It

Pawns.app can make sense as a small hobby if you already fill in surveys or play mobile games and don’t mind low, uncertain pay. It does not make sense if you want passive income, if you need a predictable amount each month, or if you hoped to earn from an always-on device. For those goals, a bank deposit is more reliable, as the passive income ideas guide shows with real numbers. Bandwidth apps that still run are covered in our internet data guide and the Honeygain review.

Income from apps like this is taxable in India. As far as we know it belongs in your return, so confirm the treatment with a CA.
